'Friends in low places' a Garth Brooks song, was the inspiration behind this series of works. The song is full of exciting scenes and images so I decided to pick it apart and illustrate the song verse by verse according to my own interpretation. 'I was the last one' portrays the crowd at the black tie affair observing who just walked in. The main character stands and thinks 'I was the last one you thought you would see there'
